Some of the best fishing in the Southeastern United States is found right here, amid the natural beauty of Callaway Resort & Gardens. Thirteen sparkling private lakes are renowned for enormous bream, crappie, shellcrackers, and trophy-sized bass. And because our lakes are private, no fishing license is needed. If fishing is not your sport, enjoy some relaxing time on the water with a kayak, canoe, or jon boat excursion.
Shore fishing is available at Mountain Creek Lake under the supervision of the Callaway Outdoors Pro Shop. Stocked live worms and crickets and fishing poles are available to rent. All children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of their fishing experience.
Take a guided trip on one of our 12 private lakes otherwise off limits for fishing. Certified instructors lead half or full day trips for largemouth bass and bream. All equipment provided. Catch and release only. Reservations required with a minimum of seven days notice.
Bass and Carp are catch and release only. Bream limit is 15 per boat. Crappie limit is 30 per boat. Shore fishing is only permitted at Mountain Creek Lake. Private boats, float tubes, and the use of bait fish are strictly prohibited.
Callaway Outdoors is your home base for everything on the water. The on-site pro shop offers gear, snacks, and all the equipment you need — all you have to do is show up and enjoy some time outside.

Wind through the gardens at your own pace and discover quiet corners you never knew existed. The 10-mile Discovery Bike Trail winds through a variety of scenic woodland environments and stops at all of the gardens and attractions.
The vast network of foot trails at Callaway offers options for everyone from casual walkers to serious hikers. Trails range from 0.5 to 1.6 miles and wind through wildflowers, holly collections, lake edges, and peaceful woodland settings.
