Up Close With Nature's Most Powerful Birds

Join us in the Discovery Amphitheater for an exciting and inspiring learning experience. Presented with the permission of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Callaway's Birds of Prey program has educated well over a million visitors since its debut in 2000 about man's impact on raptors and other forms of wildlife.

During suitable weather, these magnificent creatures — which cannot be released into the wild due either to injury or having developed an unnatural association with humans known as "imprinting" — demonstrate their strength, speed, and natural instincts in daily flighted programs. Several birds appear at each program, swooping overhead and giving guests an up-close look on the glove, while our raptor experts explain how man's actions affect their well-being.

In inclement weather, the presentation will be moved indoors to the Discovery Center Auditorium. With the exception of service animals, pets are not permitted in the Discovery Amphitheater area.
